Meet the Hospice Care Team

The team of experts at Genesis Hospice Care work together to meet the needs of patients and families.

Social Workers

Social workers help meet the social and emotional needs of patients and families. They assist patients with end-of-life concerns while promoting patients' strengths and goals. Social workers serve as patient advocates, provide counseling, teach coping skills, complete advanced directives and assist patients and families with accessing community resources.

Chaplains

Our chaplains provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families. Whether you are affiliated with a particular faith tradition or not, our chaplains are available to help you explore feelings and questions that may arise as you deal with your illness and end-of-life journey.

Nursing Care Team

The Hospice Nursing Care team is comprised of competent and trained individuals. Many of our team members hold additional certifications in their profession. We are staffed with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and patient care technicians providing a variety of services for hospice patients. Visits to provide nursing care are scheduled as determined by the nurse's assessment and the needs of the patient and family. The schedule may be changed as needed to provide the highest quality care. On-call nurses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergencies.

Bereavement Team

Our bereavement team helps individuals manage emotions associated with a significant loss -whether their loved one is a hospice patient or not. Services are free and can begin as early as admission to hospice (pre-bereavement) and continue after death. Services can include: support literature, follow up phone calls, individual and family counseling, support groups, memorial programs and a children’s summer camp. Please call for an appointment or additional information.
