We're here for you
We all need to be uplifted sometimes. Genesis Spiritual Care provides spiritual and emotional support for patients and their families. We're here for you regardless of your faith tradition, and you don’t need a religious affiliation to contact us.
Our chaplains provide support and listening during times of joy or suffering, calm or crisis or difficult decision-making. We provide an open, caring and compassionate environment so that you can draw upon your own unique beliefs and practices for comfort, courage and strength. We understand that the healing process involves body, mind and spirit.
Here are the services we provide:
- Notify churches and synagogues for patients if requested.
- Offer crisis intervention.
- Provide help in making difficult decisions.
- Offer religious sacraments.
- Lead memorial services.
- Supply training for lay visitors.
- Provide short-term individual counseling.
- Be an advocate.
- No One Dies Alone (NODA).

Advance directives assistance
Genesis Spiritual Care offers help with advance directives. Advance directives are legal documents that allow you to spell out what kind of medical care you'd want if you were too ill or hurt to express your wishes. They additionally allow you to name a person to serve as your healthcare power of attorney to make healthcare decisions for you when you can't make them yourself.

Chapel at Genesis Hospital
The St. Francis Chapel is named in honor of St. Francis of Assisi and is open to everyone of all faiths for prayer and reflection. St. Francis, a humble, poor man, is popular among Catholics, Protestants and non-Christians. St. Francis chose to walk in the footsteps of Jesus Christ, live the gospel and rekindle the love of God – the same spirit the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity embrace.
The chapel is open 24/7 as a place to come for prayer and reflection.
St. Francis Chapel features:
- Stained glass window from Good Samaritan Hospital.
- New furnishings and San Damiano Crucifix.
- A convenient location, next to Mission and Spiritual Care, on the first floor of Genesis Hospital.
